Housing

We aim to provide (but cannot guarantee) free, safe housing for everyone who registers for the convergence – but you must register in order to secure housing. Housing is first come, first serve, and our priority deadline is June 25. If you do not register ahead of time we may not be able to accommodate you, and you may have to make your own arrangements.

If you haven’t registered yet and need housing, please register as soon as possible.

If you’ve already registered and asked for housing on the form, great. We’ll be getting in touch soon.

We are matching people up with housing based on needs and preferences. All housing in New Orleans is being offered by friends and community; in other words, we know the hosts and places where we’re setting participants up. There may not be room for everyone at private homes, so we will be renting a crash space as well.

There is a relatively inexpensive hostel, Joe & Flo’s Candlelight Hostel, located nearby at 1129 N. Robertson Street for $30 a night. You will want to secure a reservation with them ASAP; the other hostel in town, the Creole Inn, is already booked from July 12-15.

There are also expensive motels and hotels nearby. Hotwire.com or Priceline.com might help you locate a better deal – from $33 per night and up.
